​This game was created at University of Europe in Berlin, for a class called: "Game Development".

​

The topic for this project was: "head first into a wall".

Who am I? Where am I? How did I get here?

And most importantly: How do I get out of here? 

Gertrude is a 2d game, that features both simple platfoming and small narrative. The goal is to collect all keys and bring them to the door, to make your escape.

Roles:

Game Designer -brainstormed game ideas based on art inspiration provided by my teammate

                           - nailed down game idea and scope with my teammate

UI Designer - designed UI sprites 

                     - scripted main menu functions and coded the pause menu

                     - designed background art for main menu

Level Designer - drafted, grey-boxed and implemented final art according to the level layout

Mechanics Coder - scripted mechanic for key unlocking a door 

                              - scripted door being unlocked three times to proceed to end game 

Narrative Writer - wrote game narrative
